Crispy Baked Potato Chips
These mouth-watering Crispy Baked Potato Chips are a great gluten-free, dairy-free, Whole30 compliant snack. They’re healthier than fried chips and sure to satisfy! Quick and easy to make, these chips are perfect to bring on a picnic, snack on while watching a movie, and everything in between!
This crunchy snack idea was a no-brainer during Tyler’s last Whole30. It was 7 or 8 on a Friday night and we were settling in to watch an episode or two of Blue Bloods (we’re only on Season 1, but so far it’s been so good!). We really wanted something to snack on while we watched. There’s often a surplus of potatoes in the pantry, so with minimal effort we grabbed a knife and some oil and turned the spuds into these crispy treats. They were so simple, but they were exactly what we were craving!
We’ve made these chips a few times since then and tried different ways to prepare them. We used a vegetable peeler to make long, thin chips. We also used the wide spiralizer attachment to get uniformly thin chips (we like this method, the spirals are just harder to work with). We’ve also tried out different combinations of spices and seasonings to flavor the chips.
After all this experimenting, this is our favorite simple method for a classic chip flavor – but we highly encourage you to make these a few times and try out some ideas of your own! We really liked sprinkling garlic powder on them, but there are plenty of other combinations to try!
These Crispy Baked Potato Chips are delicious on their own. But we also love dipping them in our Whole30 Sweet Potato BBQ Sauce.
Pro Tip: The most important aspect to getting a properly crispy, crunchy chip is the thickness of the potato slices. Be diligent to keep a uniform thickness while you’re cutting to give your chips the best chance at perfection!
